Questions
- Do free QR codes from this page expire?
- No. They are static codes: the web address or text is stored inside the pattern itself, so there is no server in the middle that could switch them off. They work as long as the address they point to works.
- Why do QR codes from other sites stop working?
- Many "free" generators make dynamic codes by default. The pattern points to the vendor's own short link, and when the 7 or 14 day trial ends the vendor turns that link off until you subscribe. Our guide explains how to tell which kind you have.
- When do I need an editable code?
- When you want to change where the code goes after printing it, such as a menu that changes each season, or when you want to count scans. Editable codes cost $19 once and never renew.
- Is there a scan limit or a watermark?
- No. Free codes have no limits, no sign-up and no logo. Editable codes have no scan limits either.
- Do you see what I type here?
- No. The free generator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us.
